Senior Photo Session at Conestoga House and Gardens: Meghan's Jane Austen-Inspired Shoot

As a family photographer in Lancaster, PA, I always feel honored to capture such monumental seasons of life for the families I work with. Senior photos are a wonderful opportunity to reflect on all you've accomplished and to celebrate the excitement of all that is to come. In October, I captured Meghan’s senior photos at the stunning Conestoga House and Gardens in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Meghan wanted her gallery to feel whimsical, elegant and was very much inspired by Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice. It was such a dream to bring her vision to life!

For the photo session, Meghan wore a beautiful floral & flowy dress that perfectly matched the romantic vibe of Conestoga House and Gardens! She even brought her matching blue copy of Pride and Prejudice. The gardens at Conestoga House are beautiful, there are many stunning flowers, plants and architecture at every turn. This is the ideal backdrop for capturing moments that feel timeless, which makes for wonderful senior photos. Conestoga House also boasts beautiful arches and windows that reflect a European style of architecture.

The Orangery: A Perfect Setting for Meghan’s Vintage-Inspired Look

One of my favorite moments of our senior photo session took place inside the Orangery, which is one of my favorite features of the Conestoga House & Gardens grounds. The Orangery boasts large, classic windows which let in a lot of natural light. The black and white checkered floors are iconic and add a vintage feel to the space. Which brings me to Meghans second outfit of the day, which was a vintage inspired, gold, ruffle tiered dress. Meghan loves to perform in theatre productions, which this dress, along with the dramatic setting, perfectly highlighted. This is a great example of why I love to encourage my seniors to choose a setting that not only will make for great photos, but represents their personalities and interests, even in subtle ways. As a Lancaster PA photographer, I love when my clients have a fun and creative vision for their photos!

The Conestoga House and Gardens is a wonderful location for engagement photos and senior photos in Lancaster, PA. The diverse backdrops provide a perfect mixture of classic and historical architecture, as well as a touch of nature with its pristine grounds! As the sun began to set, we were able to sneak back outside for more outdoor photos. We were able to take some of my favorite photos in front of the house and water fountain.
